Bass Pro is holding a public campout Thursday at its Springfield headquarters store, 1935 S. Campbell Ave., and at other select stores across the country. The Great Turkey Campout will provide the amenities of a campsite, as well as s’mores, hot cocoa and giveaways. Campers are encouraged to bring their own tents and sleeping bags.
The first 100 campers age 21 or older can be entered in a national drawing to win a two-year lease on a 2008 Toyota Tundra. All campers will be eligible to enter local drawings for Coleman tents, gift cards and other prizes.
Campers can begin arriving at 7 p.m. Thursday, and drawings will begin at 10 p.m. The store opens at 6 a.m. Friday, with doorbuster specials until 11 a.m.
