Bass Pro closing Cabela's centers in Nebraska

Bass Pro Shops is planning closures of Cabela's centers in the latter company's home state of Nebraska.

In Sidney, the Bass Pro-owned company's headquarters, a Cabela's distribution center is slated to close, resulting in the loss of 121 jobs.

Bass Pro also will shutter a merchandise return center in Oshkosh, located about 40 miles northeast of Sidney in Nebraska. That will result in 41 jobs being eliminated. Bass Pro officials said the affected employees would be offered other jobs in the company or receive severance and employment assistance.

"This action is being taken as a result of an extensive review of all Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s operations, including independent analysis by global logistics experts and shipping companies," company officials said in a statement.
