Bass Pro cans plans for Canada store

Bass Pro Shops confirmed this week the company has canceled plans to build a store in Kanata, a suburb of Ottawa, Ontario.

The Springfield-based company announced in late 2013 it would build a 120,000-square-foot Outdoor World store as the lead anchor tenant in the Broccolini-Laurentide development.

Sources interviewed by the Kanata Kourier-Standard indicated their belief Bass Pro pulled out after rival Cabela’s announced late last year it would build a store in the suburb.
