Bass Pro backs out of Georgia plans

Columbia County authorities said on Tuesday Bass Pro Shops won’t be proceeding with plans to build a 50,000-square-foot store that was announced July 24 in the greater Augusta, Ga., area, according to the Augusta Chronicle.

The Bass Pro facility would have created more than 200 jobs.

A 42,000-square-foot Cabela’s that was announced July 25 is still planned for the area.
