Barry Hinson video goes viral

Former Missouri State University men's basketball coach Barry Hinson said he only has one regret after he lambasted his current team’s players during a post-game press conference on Tuesday night: singling out guard Marcus Fillyaw.

According to ESPN, Southern Illinois Athletic Director Mario Moccia sat down to talk with Hinson following his tirade after SIU lost 73-65 to Murray State, which brought the team’s record to 2-8. Both Moccia and Hinson told ESPN they wished Hinson would have spoken in generalities. In the video, Hinson said Fillyaw’s play was awful.

The video, which features the coach calling his team “a bunch of mama’s boys,” and “uncoachable,” as well as indicating they needed to be figuratively smacked like puppies with treadmill punishments, had picked up more than 23,000 views on YouTube by 3 p.m. yesterday.
