Community banks this year are facing several technology-related issues, ac-cording to a recent national survey. Ac-cording to a news release from BKD LLP, the survey was conducted by Infinet Resources, an independent financial in-stitutions network, and the Independent Community Bankers of America. |ret||ret||tab|
"Internet banking, digital check imaging, equipment purchases, network is-sues and software upgrades are the top technology issues facing community banks in 2002," said Jason Rader, a partner with BKD's southern Missouri practice.|ret||ret||tab|
"The survey indicates technological savvy is now a must for community banks. Banking customers are starting to expect Internet-based services," Rader added. Rader noted that 84 percent of survey respondents have a local area network, and 63 percent have a wide area network.
