A study released by Consumer Bankruptcy Project found older Americans are filing for bankruptcy more frequently.
From February 2013 to November 2016, 3.6 bankruptcy filings per 1,000 people were made by those ages 65 to 74. That's up from 1.2 in 1992.
According to the report, 12.2 percent of filers are now 65 or older, up from 2.1 percent in 1991.
