The bank opened at 1602 E. Republic Road on Nov. 1 after less than two months in a temporary location on South Campbell Avenue. The new location, situated in the French Quarter Plaza, also is temporary, according to Community Bank President Mick Nitsch. The bank is searching for a permanent spot.
To celebrate the opening of its Republic office, the bank is holding an open house until 5 p.m. today and 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Thursday and Friday. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. today; refreshments and door prizes will be provided.
This is the first Springfield branch of Perryville-based The Bank of Missouri, which operates two branches in Perryville, three in Cape Girardeau and one each in Jackson, Marble Hill and Columbia. The holding company’s assets are about $435 million.
Local services include a full range of loan products – both commercial and residential – and a full range of deposit products. Nitsch said there are plans to offer trust services and investments services as well.
Nitsch started the Springfield bank with zero assets and in September set a goal of $25 million after one year.
“We’ll be ahead of that,” Nitsch says now, projecting into 2007. “We’ll probably exceed that by 50 percent.”
