Britain’s central bank on Thursday decided to keep its benchmark interest rate unchanged at a record low amid more evidence that the country’s economic recovery was gaining speed.
The bank voted to keep its interest rate at 0.5 percent and hold its economic stimulus program at 375 billion pounds, or nearly $600 billion, according to the New York Times.
Economic recovery in Britain has been bolstered by climbing consumer confidence and a return in disposable income, among other factors.
