Homeyer began April 1 at U.S. Bank’s 500 W. Battlefield Road office, where he is senior vice president of the bank’s media and communications group. The group provides capital and other financial services to middle-market and large corporate clients in those industries, Homeyer said.
Homeyer was the local Bank of America president since May 2006, but he also served as commercial client manager for the Charlotte, N.C.-based bank. He has been with the bank for five years, previously as senior vice president.
Both his previous jobs and next job are more focused on client management than internal personnel management, Homeyer said.
U.S. Bank’s media and communications group is based in St. Louis and has offices in Seattle and New York City, Homeyer said. He is the group’s only Springfield representation. Because the group’s clients are located across the country, Homeyer will travel about 40 percent of the time, he said.
“This is such a neat opportunity personally, because I’m excited about being able to work within these industries and work with larger clients, but I live here and I don’t have to move my family,” Homeyer said of U.S. Bank’s willingness to let him work from Springfield.
An active search for Homeyer’s replacement is under way, according to Bank of America spokesman Rob Darmanin.
