Bank of America offers free online equity trades

Posted online
Charlotte, N.C.-based Bank of America Tuesday rolled out its free online equity trade offer in Missouri with plans to launch the program nationwide by the end of first-quarter 2007.

The offer was scheduled to reach the company’s Midwest and Southwest regions early next year but was debuted early because of customer response. It was made available in the company’s Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions earlier this quarter.

Free online equity trades are available to self-directed investors who maintain a combined balance of at least $25,000 in Bank of America deposit accounts. Eligible investors may be qualified for up to 30 commission-free equity trades per month.

The bank’s self-directed brokerage customers also have access to more than 1,300 no-load, no-transaction-fee mutual funds.

The equity trade offer is part of the company’s plan to introduce relationship-based pricing offers. Previous offers include free online bill-pay service, free remittances to Mexico and online payroll.[[In-content Ad]]
