Homeyer, 35, previously served as senior vice president. He succeeds Rob Bratcher, who is relocating with Bank of America to Houston, Texas.
In addition to his role as president, Homeyer will be senior client manager for commercial banking at the southwest Missouri office. He will conduct financial consultation for clients with annual revenues of $20 million to $2 billion.
Homeyer said his new role will differ from a traditional bank president role, as he won’t directly manage associates or make personnel decisions.
“I will focus my energy on pulling our local teams together to ensure we are doing all we can to deliver for our clients and drive growth in Springfield,” Homeyer said.
He also will allocate Bank of America’s foundation and sponsorship budgets throughout his area, which covers Rolla to the northeast, Nevada, Mo., to the northwest, West Plains to the east and the borders of Arkansas and Kansas.
“Michael Homeyer is an experienced banker who will be an effective champion for business growth, community investment and neighborhood vitality in Springfield,” said Bank of America Missouri President Patricia Mercurio in a news release. “Springfield is a key market for Bank of America.”
Homeyer said his goals for his position include delivering double-digit earnings-per-share growth for shareholders and to “continue to accelerate our growth in Springfield and southwest Missouri.”
Homeyer joined the company in 2003. He is a member of the board of directors of the Springfield Finance and Development Corp. and of Drury University’s SIFE advisory board.
He has a bachelor’s degree in economics and business administration from Drury University and a master’s in business administration from St. Louis University.
