Bank of America Corp. (NYSE: BAC) is facing a trademark lawsuit related to its use of the virtual financial assistant Erica it rolled out this year.
Erik Underwood, a Colorado resident and founder of My24HourNews.Com Inc., sued Bank of America alleging the company infringed his trademark for virtual assistant E.R.I.C.A. That's an acronym for electronic repetitious informational clone application.
The suit follows a cease-and-desist letter Underwood's attorney sent to Bank of America in May.
