The Kansas City-based bank Feb. 6 launched an extensive multimedia ad campaign featuring Green as its spokesperson.
Green and Bank Midwest entered into the partnership in December and began developing advertising programs in January. Mike Fielder, senior vice president and director of marketing for the bank, said the company had been interested in teaming with a celebrity for some time but had not met anyone who carried similar values - until they heard about Green.
“He's of the highest integrity and has very strong family values, and our company is a family-owned business,” Fielder said. “That whole family orientation runs very deeply throughout our company … so it seemed to be a good fit.”
Fielder would not disclose the value of the campaign but said the bank will air about commercials featuring Green about 3,000 times on more than a dozen cable and network affiliate channels in Missouri and Kansas in the next six weeks. Ads will appear in 26 newspapers and on seven radio stations.
Promotional advertising also will be displayed in the bank's 71 locations and through direct mail and on the Internet. Green will make personal appearances, autographing memorabilia and conducting other activities on behalf of the bank.
Green has a one-year contract with the bank, but Fielder said he expects the partnership to last longer.
Bank Midwest is a subsidiary of Dickinson Financial Corp. and has assets of more than $4 billion. The bank has five locations in Springfield.
