Backpage CEO pleads guilty to conspiracy

The U.S. Department of Justice yesterday announced the CEO of Backpage.com pleaded guilty to conspiracy.

Carl Ferrer, 57, of Frisco, Texas, pleaded guilty to charges of facilitating prostitution and money laundering, according to the department.

The guilty plea comes nearly a week after the federal government seized the website.
