Backpage CEO arrested on pimping charges

The CEO of Backpage was arrested yesterday and charged with pimping children and other counts.

Carl Ferrer, 55, was picked up by police in Houston, Texas, after landing on a flight from Amsterdam.

In a joint investigation, California and Texas authorities say Backpage has been used to force adults and children into prostitution through escort ads.

Similar to Craigslist, Backpage allows users to post ads to sell items and services.
