Community

Kraft Foods, part of the Phillip Morris family of companies, issued a $7,000 grant to The Victim Center to help fund the Domestic Violence Survival and Empow-erment program. The program helps women in at-risk situations to develop survival skills.

Environment

Sunbelt Environmental Services Inc. was awarded a contract with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources for environmental emergency response and nonemergency environmental services. Under the contract, Sunbelt will respond to calls on a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week basis in 43 southern Missouri counties, networking with two other companies located in Kansas City and St. Louis.

Kevin Harrel, ISA-certified arborist, was chosen as the southwest region chairman of the Missouri Community Forestry Council's anti-topping campaign, |quot|Experts Agree, Don't Top Your Tree.|quot|

Finance

Terry Mooneyham, branch office administrator for Edward Jones in Republic, was awarded a State Women of the Year award by the Missouri Federation of Business and Professional Women at its state convention held in Branson.

Industrial

Aaron Cain and John Warren of Central States Industrial Equipment |amp| Service Inc. completed training through the American Society of Non-destructive Testing and received certificates pertaining to visual inspections. As a result, Cain and Warren are qualified to inspect using the methods of boroscopic visual inspection.

Springfield ReManufacturing Cor-poration was named as one of the 100 largest majority employee-owned companies in the United States by the National Center for Employee Ownership. The list is a compilation of companies in which the majority of the stock is owned by an employee ownership plan, in which most or all employees can participate. SRC was No. 73 on the list.

Law

Springfield trial attorney Dee Wampler recently returned from a three-day visit to The Hague, Netherlands, where he attended the war-crimes trial of Slobodian Milosevic and other leaders, concerning alleged crimes in Kosovo and Croatia. Wampler was with 20 other members of the American Board of Criminal Lawyers.

Pest Control

Ivan and Terri Eftink of Bug Zero Inc. attended a focus group in Miami, sponsored by the Sengenta Corporation, where they helped develop new and innovative marketing ideas for the pest control industry.

Real Estate

Lorrie Kleier of ERA Jones-Rutherford Realtors successfully completed the ERA real estate implementation course. The week-long session, held recently in New Jersey, provided intensive industry training to brokers and managers new to the ERA system.

Peggy Mitchell, sales associate with Coldwell Banker Vanguard Realtors was named to the company's International President's Elite.
