Architecture

Tyler Barnard, Timothy Guillot and Laura Murr, students of Drury University's Hammons School of Architecture, were named the recipients of the 2001 Pella Architectural Scholarship for academic achievement.

Doug Jackson, AIA, an architect and principal with the architectural firm of Butler, Rosenbury & Partners Inc., was named this year's Kenworthy re-cipient at the Leadership Springfield Banquet. The award represents a member's exemplary commitment, involvement in community service activities, regular attendance at Leadership functions, outstanding leadership quality, good citizenship and display of high morals and ethics.

Ozark Mountain Interiors Inc. was named a certified participant in the Architectural Woodwork Institute's Qual-ity Certification Program. The business is now certified to manufacture the program's projects and to certify that the work has been manufactured in accordance with AWI quality standard.

Design

Sandra Quebbeman, a design consultant with Ethan Allen in Springfield, received Ethan Allen's Lo-cal Circle of Excellence Award, the company a-ward for service, sales and design excellence. Store managers select designers for this award based on their consistent creativity in design, meticulous service, strong selling skills, customer follow-up, teamwork and leadership.

Development

The city of Springfield won the 2001 Public Improvements Award from the Missouri Department of Economic Development for the Boonville Avenue Streetscape project.

Engineering

Members of the board of directors for the 2001-2002 Consulting Engineers Council of Missouri are: G. Kelley Gipple, president and alternate national director; Robert E. Polk Jr., president-elect and national director; Kevin R. Eisenbeis, vice president, west; Marc H. Alper, vice-president, east; David E. Hamilton, secretary; Scott M. Smith, treasurer; Edmond D. Alizadeh, Richard J. Cammarata, Joel A. Cerwick, Dan L. Chilton, Robert L. Goodwillie and Brad R. Parrish, directors; and Bruce A. Wylie, executive director.

Michael D. Gray, director at Anderson Engineering Inc. of Springfield, was appointed to the Missouri Board for Architects, Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors and confirmed by the Missouri Senate. Gray has been with Anderson Engineering since 1972.

The Missouri Department of Trans-portation received the Federal Highway Administration's 2001 Value Engineering Outstanding Achievement Award and the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials' Value En-gineering Achievement Award for design of a bridge replacement on Route 52 in Miller County.

MoDOT received both awards at a recent conference in San Diego.

Landscaping

Kevin Harrel, certified arborist and owner of Arborcare of the Ozarks, has been accepted as a member of the American Society of Consulting Arborists. Members of the ASCA are recognized for their ability to provide diagnostic, appraisal, evaluation, expert witness and other arboricultural consulting services to their clients.

Real Estate

The Greater Springfield Board of Realtors and Multilist Service installed the following individuals as 2001 officers: Jeanne McFall, Jones & Company Real-tors, board president; Brenda Ellsworth, United Country Suburban Brokers, first vice president; Bob Fitzgerald, Fitzger-ald First Realty, second vice president; Charles Livieri, Charles E. Liveiri Real Estate, secretary; Twila Hillme, Murney Associates, treasurer.
