A painting by Springfield artist Scott Hepper was chosen as the official poster for the Missouri Prairie Foundation's 35th anniversary celebration. The painting , which depicts a Missouri Prairie view, will be unveiled at the Oct. 20 celebration, and a limited quantity of signed and numbered prints will be sold, with proceeds benefiting the MPF.

The Missouri Bar announced several honors bestowed at the annual luncheon in Springfield. Five attorneys were awarded the title of senior counselor, which is bestowed upon lawyers who are 75 years old, or who have been admitted to the Missouri Bar for 50 years. Those attorneys are: Leland C. Bussell, Paul R. Coffman, Benjamin Joseph Francka, Howard Winget and Jack Yocum. The Missouri Bar also honored Debra K. Dodge, a partner in the law firm of Hall, Ansley, Rodgers & Condry PC, with the David J. Dixon Appellate Advocacy Award, which recognizes outstanding achievement in appellate practice by members of The Missouri Bar who have been in practice for less than 10 years.

Lynn and Janet Morris, owners the Family Pharmacy chain, recently attended the 44th National Association Chain Drug Stores Pharmacy & Technol-ogy Conference in Chicago.

Joan Sherwood recently completed a one-year internship and training program with GMAC Global Relocation at Roy Group, Realtors GMAC Real Estate.

Five Southwest Missouri State University faculty members received grants, totaling $17,142.91 from the Missouri Campus Contact for the 2001-02 school year. The grant money will be used to develop and improve service-learning courses and courses that include service-learning components. The five faculty who received the grants were: Robert Norton, PhD, professor of modern and classical languages; Sandra Byrd, PhD, professor in the school of accountancy; Lori Padgett, lecturer of agriculture; Pearl Yeadon-Erny, associate professor of music and Janice Clark Young, PhD, assistant professor of health, education and recreation.

Stacey Clem, broker/sales associate with Coldwell Banker, Vanguard, Realtors, recently attended the Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corporation's Elite Retreat, which is open only to sales associates in the top 11 percent internationally.

Jim L. Morris, president of American Detection Specialists Inc., attended the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk CVA/ CV63 Veteran's Association Reunion held Sept. 12-16 in Pensacola, Fla.

The Springfield-Branson Regional Airport's Aircraft Rescue and Fire Unit received a commendation from the Great Lakes Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives for valor and commitment to excellence in the field of aircraft fire-fighting and rescue services. Specifically, the unit was honored for its handling of an aircraft emergency that occurred in June.

Paul Sidio, Springfield affiliate for United Country Real Estate, earned the company's Master Salesman Award for attaining new high sales through July. Sidio's affiliate office is United Country Ozark Country Realty.
