Jeffrey A. Layman has been awarded the chartered financial analyst designation by the Institute of Financial Analysts Board of Trustees. Layman is the senior portfolio manager for the Private Bank. He began his banking career in 1987 with Boatmen's Bank of Southern Missouri. He holds a bachelor's and a master's degree from SMSU. To earn the CFA designation, Layman successfully completed three levels of CFA examinations, met experience requirements in the profession of analyzing and managing investments, and agreed to abide by the code of conduct of the Association for Investment Management and Research.

Nick Love, owner of Love Insurance & Financial Services Inc., has qualified for 1999 membership in the exclusive Million Dollar Round Table Club. Members represent the top 6 percent of insurance producers worldwide.

Timothy M. Carey, of the Mutual of Omaha Companies in Springfield, has been named to the companies' Builders Club for 1998. The club recognizes agents for outstanding sales and service.

Joe Patton, of the Lawrence County Farm Bureau, has achieved membership in the Missouri Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company's Million Dollar Club. Patton is one of the company's top agents qualifying for the award this year.

The American Board of Certification has announced that C. Dudley Martin, of Martin & Associates, has successfully completed the requirements for recertification in creditors' rights law.

Harry W. Kirkpatrick, of Kirkpatrick, Phillips, & Miller CPAs, has been honored by the Society of Certified Public Accountants for 35 years of service to the profession of accountancy.

Anthony D. Lynn, of Davis, Lynn & Moots, attended a meeting of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Peer Review Board. The board administers a peer review program for more than 40,000 CPA firms. The Peer Review Board protects the interest of the public by improving the quality of practice of CPA firms.

Anthony D. Lynn and Andrew Marmouget, of Davis, Lynn, Moots, have attended "Annual Medicare Reimbursement Update." This course is offered by Gottlieb & Associates in Philadelphia, Pa., to update clients and associates on recent changes in the Medicare reimbursement of long term care facilities regarding the implementation of the PPS reimbursement program.

Rodney K. Pennington, of Lincoln Financial Advisors, has earned membership in the Million Dollar Round Table. Membership is attained by life insurance producers who meet an annual production requirement and are members of their local life underwriters association.

Michael W. Morris, a general agent with Kansas City Life Insurance Company, has been named a member of the company's Century Club. Membership is exclusively for members of agencies who have met high production and commission standards.

Dave Kunze, president and CEO of Signature Bank, has been appointed to the Y2K Task Force by the Missouri Banker's Association. The task force comprises 15 members focused on developing a plan for Y2K that addresses the communication issues that banks will face.

Signature Bank was recently nominated for the statewide Excellence in Business Award given by the Small Business Development Center. Businesses are nominated by staff members of the center and best exemplify all the necessary attributes to succeed in the area of small business.

Joseph D. Page, of Whitlock, Selim & Keehn LLC, has been awarded the designation of Certified Fraud Examiner by The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Certification allows Page to assist in all aspects of detecting and preventing fraud and white-collar crimes.

Walt Cameron, of First National Funding Group, was named the No. 1 Midwest States Mortgage Loan Officer of 1998 by First National-Heartland Funding Group. Cameron originates residential real estate loans.

NationsBank has awarded United Way of the Ozarks a $75,000 grant as a part of a nationwide initiative to help ensure a brighter future for children and their families. The award is part of a $40 million Bank of America Foundation grant to United Ways to continue the foundation's support of Success by 6.
