Avanzare relocating to $10M Fremont Avenue development

Posted online

Avanzare Italian Dining is one of the centerpieces in a $10 million development coming to Fremont Avenue and Erie Street.

Jackie Joy Eoff, vice president and office manager for Eoff & Associates Inc., the developer of the project called Fountain Place, said Avanzare should open there by late 2023 or early 2024.

The roughly 9,900-square-foot Avanzare restaurant, 3240 S. Fremont Ave., would take up one of four lots planned at the development, Eoff said.

Signage at the south end of the site, near The City Studios, states there will be "a new home for ... Tony and Carmen Garcia's Avanzare Italian Restaurant." The restaurant currently operates at 1908 S. Glenstone Ave. in the Plaza Shopping Center.

The Garcias could not be reached for comment by deadline. The restaurant has been in business since 2002, according to Springfield Business Journal archives.

The roughly 8.7-acre Fountain Place is located just west of The Abbey Apartments, said Eoff. The development also calls for fountains to be added to a pond on the site.

Eoff said Metro Builders Supply Inc. has signed on for one of Fountain Place's lots, and two others are available, most likely for offices with a possibility of lofts on the top level.

Eoff & Associates Builders & Developers is the general contractor for the project designed by architect James O'Donnell, Eoff said, noting her company owns the property through Fountain Place LLC.
