The Ava School District, located more than 50 miles from Springfield, filed suit against e-cigarette maker Juul Labs.
Ava joins two other school districts in the Kansas City and St. Louis areas that have filed similar lawsuits.
The suit alleges Juul marketed products toward teenagers in an effort to get a new generation addicted to nicotine.
