An audit released by Auditor Nicole Galloway's office found more than $60,000 missing from the small north Missouri town of Coffey.
The audit describes the actions by a former city clerk, who allegedly failed to make bank deposits and then falsified board minutes and bank balances to hide the missing funds.
Mary Browning, the former city clerk, allegedly conducted the scheme over a nearly two-year period.
