Audit: Missouri struggles to oversee federal funds

Missouri Auditor Nicole Galloway has raised concerns over how Missouri monitors which health care and child care providers are marked as eligible for federal funds.

Galloway says the state should be more vigilant in ensuring tax dollars don't go to ineligible recipients.

The audit found “significant weaknesses” in the Department of Social Services' administration of more than $135 million in subsidies.
