Lou Ottens, a Dutch engineer credited with inventing the audio cassette tape, died this month. He was 94.
After they were introduced in the 1960s, roughly 100 billion cassette tapes have been sold worldwide, according to estimates.
Ottens also was involved in the creation of the compact disk.
