Attorney to run for Hough’s seat

Posted online
Springfield attorney Randy Alberhasky announced his candidacy for the 135th District of the Missouri House of Representatives.

The seat - which represents the eastern portion of the Queen City - is currently held by Republican Lincoln Hough, who will not seek re-election this year, according to media reports.

Alberhasky, a registered Democrat, co-owns The Alberhasky Law Firm PC, which represents injured individuals and their families in workers’ compensation, automobile accidents and wrongful death cases, as well as children with disabilities in the realm of special education law.

In his campaign announcement, Alberhasky said his work as an attorney has shown him the impact poor education and health care have on the working class and the economy.

“Our citizens have been deprived of the health and economic benefits that would be derived from expanding Medicaid,” he said in a news release. “When any of our workers or businesses suffer from lack of investment, we all share the cost in one way or another.”

Alberhasky has not reported any campaign funds on hand with the Missouri Ethics Commission, according to its website.

He’ll run against Republican Steve Helms, the past circuit clerk for Greene County who owns Kirkwood Media and SAMA Insurance Agency, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Helms also hasn’t reported financial information to the MEC.
