U.S. Attorney General William Barr yesterday announced plans to resign next week.
Deputy Attorney General Jeff Rosen is becoming acting attorney general in the interim.
Barr said allegations of voter fraud in the presidential election would continue to be reviewed, despite him saying earlier this month there was no widespread evidence of fraudulent voting, CNN reports.
