Robert Moser, owner of Bryant, Ark.-based Moser Construction Co. LLC, said his company started infill work about four weeks ago for the franchisee. AT&T spokeswoman Katie Nagus said via email that authorized retailer Cellular World, which also operates a Springfield store at National Avenue and Battlefield Road, is behind the new location.
Moser said the roughly 2,400-square-foot store on Glenstone plans to open in June.
The AT&T store represents the northern portion of the 1011 S. Glenstone Ave. building on nearly 1 acre. The southern half is vacant. The property has been designed for mixed-use purposes, according to a city of Springfield building permit.
The Greene County assessor’s website lists the property in the name of Superior Properties Plus, care of Fort Worth, Texas-based Midwest Entertainment Inc., which converted its Blockbuster store into Major Video in September 2011, according to
Springfield Business Journal archives. Property owner Jim Barnes could not be reached for comment by deadline.
