AT&T reported higher-than-expected earnings and revenue in the second quarter.
The company's adjusted earnings per share were 54 cents, above expectations of 51 cents per share. Revenue of $30.8 billion beat analysts' projections of $30.5 billion.
AT&T added 243,000 fiber customers during the quarter. Analysts were looking for 250,610.
