Posted online
Dallas-based AT&T (NYSE: T) is looking to hire six workers for its Springfield operations as part of larger plans to add more than 185 positions across Missouri.

The full- and part-time jobs include retail positions, call center employees, business sales representatives and U-verse technicians, according to a news release.

"These job opportunities are great for Missouri, as they are in one of the fastest-growing segments of our economy and will help provide critical communication services to customers," Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry President and CEO Dan Mehan said in the release. "These jobs also offer enhanced social and economic opportunities to local residents as our economy continues to grow and as demand for wireless and other communications services continues to increase.”

AT&T employs roughly 10,800 in Missouri and hired more than 500 statewide during the first half of the year. The company invested nearly $250 million during that time, building on $2.15 billion invested 2009-12, the release said.
