Atlantic City's Revel casino to close in September

Posted online
Revel Casino Hotel, which announced plans Tuesday to close by Sept. 10 after it was unable to find a viable buyer in bankruptcy court, will become the fourth Atlantic City, N.J., casino to shutter this year.

According to the Asbury Park Press, the region is bracing for 3,100 layoffs as the casino shuts down.

"This might be Revel's last chapter, but not the last one for this building," Atlantic City Mayor Don Guardian said in a statement. "My administration remains committed to the workers, the businesses and the visitors who are impacted by (the) news."
