At least 40 people died in storm systems that hit the Midwest and South over the weekend.
Missouri, Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Alabama and Mississippi were impacted.
Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe said "the scale of devastation across our state is staggering" and vowed resources in the state where at least 12 people were killed by storms.
