At least 150 major companies prep for carbon prices

At least 150 major companies worldwide - including ExxonMobil, Google, Microsoft and 26 others in the United States - are already making business plans that assume they will be taxed on their carbon pollution, according to USA Today.

The U.S. hasn't yet imposed a tax on heat-trapping carbon dioxide emissions, but other nations have started to do so in a move to curb global warming.

A report from the Carbon Disclosure Project says companies are planning for a probable future where the U.S. also will tax emissions.
