Astros sign largest deal with player in team history

The Houston Astros signed the largest deal in team history to keep American League MVP Jose Altuve.

Altuve agreed to a five-year, $151 million extension. The second baseman had two years remaining on his deal before the new agreement.

The previous record for a player deal by the Astros was a six-year, $100 million deal for Carlos Lee after the 2006 season.
