Astros reach $66M extension with Justin Verlander

The Houston Astros and pitcher Justin Verlander reached a two-year, $66 million contract extension deal.

After being traded from the Detroit Tigers in 2017, Verlander went on to help the Astros win their first World Series title.

Verlander is now the highest-paid pitcher in Major League Baseball in terms of average annual value, according to Fox Business.
