Kansas City, Kansas-based Associated Wholesale Grocers CEO David Smith announced plans to retire at the end of 2023.
Smith, who joined AWG in 2003, became CEO in 2015.
He's slated to be succeeded by Dan Funk, the company's chief operating officer.
