Matt Canovi of Canovi & Associates talks about the services his company provides, including training in firearms, personal defense, and concealed carry training. The company also does security and analytical work such as threat assessments for businesses around the area, teaching them how to deal with active shooter situations. He also discusses how changes in legislation have affected his business, the region, and the nation. He says that concealed carry demand has been reduced drastically since the law no longer requires people to have a permit. He discusses the downside of removing the permit is that people receive less training about safety and the legal parameters concerning when you can use deadly force. He also talks about how empathy motivated him to become a police officer and how that carries over into his current position.
