Askinosie Chocolate this week began selling its products at the top five retail locations of Anthropologie, a Philadelphia-based lifestyle chain owned by Urban Outfitters Inc.
Askinosie spokeswoman Bethany Parry said its products are selling at Anthropologie stores in Chicago, Cincinnati, Los Angeles, New York City and San Francisco.
The stores, as well as
Anthropologie.com, will carry Askinosie's sipping chocolate and three chocolate bars from its CollaBARation line - black licorice bar, dark chocolate malted milk bar and dark chocolate coffee bar - during the holiday season, according to a news release.
“We were excited and honored that our little company was approached by Anthropologie for this opportunity. We’re one of only three chocolate brands that were selected,” said Lawren Askinosie, director of sales and marketing, in the release. “This is the culmination of several long months of hard work for us."
Anthropologie operates 175 stores in the U.S., Canada and United Kingdom, selling clothing, accessories, gifts and home decor to a female demographic, according to its
website.
In addition to its Commercial Street headquarters, Askinosie also sells its chocolate products at Springfield retailers Hy-Vee, Harter House, MaMa Jean's and Homegrown Food, Parry said.
