Arvest Bank to open Nixa branch in May

Posted online
Arkansas-based Arvest Bank will open its first Nixa location inside the Walmart Supercenter in May.

The Nixa branch - to be located in 535 square feet that previously housed a Guaranty Bank branch - is Arvest's first in-store branch in the area, according to a news release. Guaranty Bank closed its branch in the Nixa Walmart in January.

"Since we began planning to open banks in the Springfield market, Nixa has always been an area that we wanted to make sure we became a part of," Arvest Springfield President Mike Daw said in the release.

Arvest Bank has more than 200 branches in Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Kansas, with five branches in the Springfield market, which includes Branson and Hollister. The Nixa branch will be a full-service location with personal and business banking and investment services.

A grand opening celebration is scheduled for May 16.

Jim Walton, the youngest son of Wal-Mart Stores Inc. founder Sam Walton, is Arvest's CEO and board chairman.[[In-content Ad]]
