The structure will be built for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. Sustainable features include: rainwater capturing, pervious pavement, reduced water usage, LED lighting, motion sensors for lighting, white roof covering and concrete drives to reduce heat absorption, an interpretive trail to educate about LEED practices, native plants, recyclables bins, and recycled and local construction products.
