Arvest Bank has appointed a new member to its Springfield board.
Joining the board is Algerian Hart, assistant to the president for inclusive engagement at Missouri State University, according to a news release.
“His background in diversity and inclusion aligns well with Arvest’s mission, and we look forward to seeing how his ideas impact communities across the region," said Jason England, president of Arvest's Springfield region, in the release.
Chandler Johnston, vice president and community marketing manager for Arvest Springfield, said Hart's addition to the board grows its ranks to nine members.
The board also includes John Ghirardelli, Jean Harmison, Todd Parnell, Thomas Prater, Ryan Stack, Krystal Simon, Anne McGregor and Erin Danastasio, said Johnston.
Hart, a kinesiology professor at MSU since 2019, previously served as an administrator and professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and he's a professor emeritus at Western Illinois University, according to the release.
