Administrative Professionals Week begins.

Ninth annual Student Research Symposium, presented by the SMSU College of Health and Human Services, begins at 3:30 p.m. in the Plaster Student Union Grand Ballroom on the SMSU campus.
Pizza fund-raiser for Musgrave Boys & Girls Club’s Torch Club and Rocket Club runs 5-8 p.m. at CiCi’s Pizza near Battlefield and Jefferson. The clubs will receive 10 percent of all receipts placed in the donation bucket and tips donated for bussing tables and filling drinks.
An Open Forum with Habitat for Humanity begins at 6 p.m. at United Ministries Center, 680 S. Florence.

Seeing Traditions, a Jewish Culture Photographic Exhibit, opens on the second and third floors of Meyer Library on the SMSU campus. The exhibit features photos by assistant English professor Rachel Gholson and English lecturer Mara Cohen Ioannides.
The fifth annual Salute to Travel & Tourism Awards Banquet and Benefit, in conjunction with the Springfield Regional Arts Council Ozzie Awards, begins with a reception at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7. Choppers for Children Bike Show and Rally runs 10 a.m.-10 p.m. on the historic Neosho square. Admission is $10; children 12 and under admitted free. The event will benefit Children’s Miracle Network, Joplin. The entry fee for bikes is $5. The event features carnival games, the Anaconda – a 10-person Harley Davidson – and the raffle of an American Eagle motorcycle trailer.
