The Binnie Clements Guild of First & Calvary Presbyterian Church holds its first Binnie’s Basement, Bistro and Bakery sale 9 a.m.-5 p.m. May 13 and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. May 14 at the church, 820 E. Cherry St. The sale, which raises funds for Springfield Children’s Charities, replaces the long-running Binnie Clements home tour. The Ozark Main Street program presents Art Walk 2-5 p.m. on Ozark’s historic square. The event is free to the public and to artists who wish to display their work. The Kitchen 5K Fun Run begins at 8 a.m. rain or shine at City Utilities, 301 E. Central. Preregistration, $15 per runner, is 7 a.m.-6 p.m. May 13 at CU’s training center. Registration the day of the race is $17 per runner from 7-7:45 a.m. Online registration is available at www.cityutilities.net. Proceeds benefit the children served by The Kitchen through its Children’s Circle and the Family Nurturing Center. No rollerblades or skateboards, but strollers and pets on leashes are welcome.

The Habitat Humanitarian golf tournament begins with a 1 p.m. shotgun start at Bill and Payne Stewart Golf Course. The 18-hole tournament is a two-man scramble. The event includes longest drive contests with prizes awarded. Registration is $60 for a two-person team, cart included. Sponsorship opportunities also are available. The inaugural Go Red for Women Luncheon is 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at University Plaza. Jennifer Rothschild, speaker, author, songwriter and recording artist, is the featured speaker. Funds provide research for women’s health issues and support for the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign, which calls for women to take charge of their health and live stronger, healthier lives.

The second annual Red Ribbon Ride to benefit AIDS Project of the Ozarks begins and ends at Galloway Station Bar & Grill, 4211 S. Lone Pine Ave. Thirty- and 50-mile rides begin at 8:30 a.m., and the 10-mile family fun ride begins at 10:30 a.m. Prizes are awarded during the event. The 22nd annual National Street Rod Association Mid-America Street Rod Nationals are at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds 8 a.m.-5 p.m. May 27–28 and 8 a.m-2 p.m. May 29.
The event features more than 2,200 pre-1949 street rods from all over the United States. Tickets are $12 for adults and $3 for children ages 6-12. Children age 5 and younger are admitted free with an adult. Tickets are available at the door during the event.
June 2–4
The Greater Ozarks Hosta Society presents the 2005 Midwest Regional Hosta Society Convention at the Oasis Inn & Convention Center, 2610 N. Glenstone. Wilderness Road Festival, celebrating the history of the pre-Civil War-era Wilderness Road of the Ozarks, is 3-9 p.m. June 3, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. June 4 and noon-6 p.m. June 5 at Port of Kimberling in Kimberling City. The event features traditional music, storytelling, re-enactments, a craft show and black-powder shoots. Food, vendors and children’s activities reflect a historical theme. The event is free.
