Art Walk tonight showcases ‘Loveseats’ display

Posted online
Center-city art galleries will open their doors tonight to feature varied displays, including “Loveseats: In Honor of Love that Goes the Distance,” a photography exhibit at Randy Bacon Studio.

The First Friday Art Walk will run 6–10 p.m. At least 16 downtown galleries will feature exhibits and refreshments.

At Randy Bacon Studio, 320 Park Central West, the Loveseat exhibit displays more than 32 black-and-white photographs of married couples. The exhibit originally debuted at St. John’s Surgery Center in February to recognize the link between healthy marriages and physical health.

Also tonight, Good Girl Art, 215 W. Olive, will display its new exhibit “Double-Barreled” featuring work by Missouri State University art instructor Jennifer Manning Pierson.

At Park Central Gallery, 112 Park Central Square, acclaimed watercolorist Sandra Schaffer will have an exhibit with international sculptor and painter Carmit Levy.

Other participating galleries are: Creamery Arts Center at 411 Sherman, Hawthorn Gallery at 214 E. Walnut, Keyes Gallery at 229 S. Market, MSU Art & Design Gallery at 333 E. Walnut, MSU Student Exhibition Center at 838 E. Walnut, Springfield Hot Glass Studio at 314 S. Campbell, Springfield Pottery at 416 S. Campbell, Studio 405 at 405 W. Walnut, Walnut Street Gallery at 225 E. Walnut, Well Fed Head Books at 331 S. Campbell, Graif Designs at 331 E. Walnut, Mudhouse at 323 South and Phorm at 330 E. Walnut.
