Art Walk tonight features work at 22 galleries

Tonight’s First Friday Art Walk in Springfield will showcase work ranging from watercolors to sculptures to photography.

The walk is scheduled for 6–10 p.m.

Galleries and businesses participating in the tour include:

• Artworks Downtown, 109 Park Central Square, featuring cards, jewelry, picture frames, sculptures, mosaics and glass pieces;

• Creamery Arts Center, 411 Sherman Parkway, featuring the works of Springfield’s Splatter art group;

• DB Design Salon & Gallery, 326 S. Campbell, featuring mixed media work by Ann Reed;

• Good Girl Art, 215 W. Olive St., featuring “Keep Off Grass” by painter Lil Olive and assemblage artists Ellen Neville and Tommi Thee;

• Graif Designs, 331 E. Water St., featuring mixed media on watercolor paper by Elexis Russo;

• Hawthorn Galleries, 214 E. Walnut, featuring the gallery’s annual photography showing;

• Hyde Gallery, 210 E. Walnut St., featuring new artists Jim Heck, Jane Booth and Mitchi Susan;

• Icon Nightclub, 307 Park Central East, featuring works by Brian Infante, Eric Arvizu and Timothy Franzke;

• Keyes Gallery, 229 S. Market Ave., featuring “Watercolor Fancy and Free” by Sharon Hinckley, first-place winner of the 2004 Plein Air competition;

• Missouri State University Art & Design Gallery, 333 E. Walnut, featuring “Prater Ceramics Collections”;

• MSU Student Exhibition Center, 838 E. Walnut, featuring work by students who have graduated from the school’s art and design department in the last 20 years;

• Mudhouse, 323 South Ave., featuring paintings by local artist Kelly Taylor;

• Nonna’s Italian American Café, 306 South Ave.;

• Park Central Gallery, 122 Park Central Sqaure, featuring watercolor pieces by members of the National Watercolor Honor Society;

• Phorm, 330 E. Walnut, featuring works by local artist Heather Kane;

• Randy Bacon Photography Studio and Gallery, 320 Park Central West, featuring portrait work by Nancy Rose;

• Springfield Hot Glass Studio, 314 S. Campbell, where Venetian glassblowing techniques will be demonstrated;

• Springfield Pottery, 416 S. Campbell, featuring work by local potters John and Pamela Hagen;

• Studio 405, 405 W. Walnut, featuring sculpture works by Gregory Benne;

• Susan Sommer-Luarca Art Gallery, 315 South Ave., featuring contemporary art and live entertainment;

• Walnut Street Gallery, 225 E. Walnut, featuring work by Elissa Gore; and

• Well Fed Head Books, 331 S. Campbell, featuring “The Shoulders on Which We Stand,” an exhibit of recently uncovered 1940s-era photographs of Missouri State University students, faculty and staff.
