Center city galleries will open their doors 6–9 p.m. to feature work by local and international artists and offer refreshments at the monthly event.
At Studio 405, 405 W. Walnut, Derek Bossi and Elton Rose will present Africanize, an exhibit of work from artists in more than 10 African countries. Pieces include paintings on ostrich eggs, wooden masks, stone and metal sculptures and tribal artifacts.
The exhibit continues Saturday 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
Artwork from grade school students in Springfield’s sister city, Isesaki, Japan, will be on display at the Creamery Arts Center, 411 N. Sherman. The exhibit includes selected renditions of Japanese lettering and 24 watercolors and pastels.
Other galleries scheduled to participate are Good Girl Art, Graif Designs, Hawthorn Gallery, Keyes Gallery, Mudhouse, Park Central Gallery, Springfield Hot Glass Studio, Springfield Pottery, Walnut Street Gallery and Well Fed Head Books.
Upcoming Art Walks are planned for Feb. 3, March 3 and April 7.
