St. Peters-based Arrowhead Building Supply Inc. this week is moving its Strafford employees to its newly constructed Springfield facility, a roughly $2.7 million, 42,000-square-foot building at 3020 N. Martin Ave.

Arrowhead, a distributor and wholesaler of exterior building supplies and materials, has scheduled a Sept. 21 ribbon-cutting ceremony for the five-acre complex, which includes a 5,000-square-foot showroom and a drive-thru for customers who place call-in orders, according to a news release.

The center replaces a smaller Strafford office, which opened in 2009 and is located about five miles away from the Springfield location. The Springfield facility will serve clients in a 100-mile radius, according to Springfield Business Journal archives.

Along with the May announcement of the move, Arrowhead officials said the company was making a roughly $3 million capital investment to construct the building and purchase equipment, as well as double its local workforce to about 20 employees.

The company also received $276,955 in state and local benefits through the Missouri Department of Economic Development and the city of Springfield's Enhanced Enterprise Zone tax incentive program.
