The chief of chaplains of the U.S. Army is scheduled to visit and speak this month at the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary at Evangel University.
Maj. Gen. Donald L. Rutherford is slated to attend a March 26 on-campus luncheon, followed by a question-and-answer session, according to a news release.
“These sessions will be relevant to anyone interested in leadership, not just chaplaincy candidates,” said Stormy Davis, veteran affairs and chaplaincy representative at AGTS, in the release.
AGTS has trained more than 100 chaplains currently serving in the U.S. armed forces, the release said.
Accompanying Rutherford on his trip will be chaplain Brad Baumann, his executive officer who earned his master of divinity degree from AGTS in 1997.
Rutherford is a decorated officer, having earned several awards and serving in Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Hurricane Andrew Relief, Operation Desert Thunder and Operation Iraqi Freedom, according to the release.
