The 75 largest private companies based in Arkansas generated $32.8 billion in revenue last year, according to Arkansas Business.
Investment banking firm Little Rock, Ark.-based Stephens Inc. topped the list with an estimated $2.25 billion in 2014 revenue. The businesses occupying the top 15 spots are all the same as last year’s list, though the order has changed on some, and total revenue for all 75 companies is up 7 percent. A 25 percent jump in revenue moved commodity and transportation company North Little Rock-based Bruce Oakley Inc. to No. 6 from No. 9, while oil company West Memphis, Ark.-based Flash Market Inc. fell to No. 11 from No. 7 amid falling fuel prices.
Most of the revenue tallies came directly from the companies themselves, 63 of 75, while the rest – including Stephens Inc. – were estimated.
