Arkansas Business names 75 largest private companies in state

Arkansas Business unveiled its list of the 75 largest private companies in the Natural State, and a Little Rock, Ark.-based financial conglomerate was top of the class.

Stephens Inc., a conglomerate owned by Warren Stephens, pulled in an estimated $2.25 billion in revenue from its most recent fiscal year.

The list comprises revenue figures that come directly from the companies themselves and estimates, often made by other businesses or publications. In all, 120 Arkansas-based firms were surveyed and 61 of the top 75 volunteered their revenue data.

Collectively, the private companies generated $31.15 billion in revenue, which is up from $30 billion in 2013, and it took $88.8 million to make the top 75.
